There were lots of things to like about this book - the magical world that the author creates is great, and the characters are quite strong. I will be looking up the next book in the series when it comes out.

The school setting and the focus on bullying and teenage relationships all felt a bit young, but I know I would have enjoyed this a lot if I had read it as a teenager, and I still did like it, despite it having my most-loathed trope:
two sisters in love with the same man - or in this case, boy.
