This book was amazing! I’m so happy to have finally found a romantasy book that focuses on the character development just as much as the relationship between the characters. And the fact that it’s a stand alone is even better!

The beginning of the book was a little hard to get into simply because there were several time jumps and it wasn’t always obvious what was happening. I did also find that the first half of the book was a little slow but the second half went full tilt. 

I loved the characters and the romance, and the fresh take on the fated mates trope. I also loved that it wasn’t the conventional dark mysterious MMC, and that the side characters were just as compelling as the main characters. I’m excited to read the other books in this series and see who else gets to fall in love and get their happily ever after.
