This book was SO FUN! It was gory, dark, creepy, and spooky. I will admit, this is not a book for everyone.  While this was entertaining an entertianing read, it also posed thought-provoking discussions of race, status, and gender roles. Using the backdrop of the American South in the '90s, these hard-hitting topics are juxtaposed with the 'prim and proper Southern belle' facade of our main characters. Add vampires to the mix and you've got a smash hit!
