An excellent thriller which involves the neighbourhood of Stanhope, a small town. Avery Wooler, a difficult nine year old, disappears after her father slaps her in the face. For four days she is missing presume murdered, neighbours are questioned, secrets are disclosed, personalities revealed. Avery over all this time has been in the home of Marion who works with Avery’s father and is secretly in love with and fantasises about a future with him. Twists and turns abound and even at the end of the story, there is a doubt as to what is the actual truth
