Did not finish book. Stopped at 60%.
DNF at 60%
Wow… I really struggled with this book and likely would have given up much sooner if it hadn’t been a book club book. But I just could not do it. I found it incredibly boring, I didn’t like the protagonist or any of her friends. I think it was meant to be funny, but to me it just came across as being mean.
Emmeline was unlikeable, very pushy, telling everyone what to do and expecting them to do it, because obviously she knew what was right. But then she also gave up quite easily on a lot of things.
There was basically nothing that I liked about this book. I spent 3 days reading it and only got 60% in. When I ended up not finishing it for book club, I decided that was enough, and gave up. Now I can move on to something that I will actually enjoy!
