The Fountains of Silence
by Ruta Sepetys
Wow!
Ruta Sepetys is one of my favorite authors! She has a way of weaving historical detail into a story to make an impactful tapestry of a book.
Fountains of Silence is rich with little known Spanish history and fantastic storytelling! I loved following Ana and Daniel (and all the others) as they navigate trials and love during Francisco Franco's dictatorship. Although I prefer Ruta's previous works a little more (Salt of the Sea probably being my favorite), this one is still wonderful, full of human spirit and definitely worth reading!
