Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout

5.0

First off, I really love this concept, amnesia stories are always really fun and having a mean girl reflect on how horrible she is, is brilliant. It’s really interesting to see Samantha discover her past and seeing her feel guilty about all the things she’s done.

This book reminds me a lot of Pretty Little Liars. It has the mystery aspect, Sam could totally fit in that group of characters and there’s also the anonymous, threatening letters.

Holy shit, Sam has the worst fictional parents ever. Her mother is horrible for wanting her daughter to stay with the guy who took pictures of her giving him a blow job without her constant and indirectly got them sent out. To be fair she did have that kick ass scene where she shot the dad. I’m glad she’s at least not completely the spawn of satan.

Then her father left her for dead, she was missing for four mother fucking days and he didn’t do a god damn thing. Then he lets her think she’s going crazy, like what the fuck.

It’s also really funny that I was reading this on father’s day.

The biggest surprise is I out of that little family of assholes, I don’t know how a perfect person like Scott was made. My god, I loved him so much. I want a companion novel just about him and his relationship with Julie. Maybe a prequel. That’d be awesome.

But this was an amazing book, I loved it, now I need to go buy a bunch more of Armentrout’s books.
