Before I get into this, I only read this because I found it for really cheap on Amazon and finishing a series feels satisfying even if I hate it (I know there's a 3rd book but I'm not counting it since it's a companion).

I think my feelings are pretty much the same as with the first book: basic book with basic characters. It's not anything out of this world. The plot is very predictable and boring. Even the villain was underwhelming. My one positive is that it's a really fast read.

Love triangles aren't my favourite and this book revolves around one. It was pretty obvious from the first book's ending but I wish it would've played out another way. I was shipping Britta and Aodren more than her with Cohen.

I don't think Cohen is a horrible person but Aodren is more mature and less toxic, in my eyes. Cohen is a red flag. He kept making choices for Britta, omitting things she should know, he forgot her birthday and left her behind when it was obviously not what she wanted. You know it's bad when his 14-year-old brother has more common sense. Meanwhile, Aodren respected her, and even at one point wanted to let her decide for herself but Cohen obviously stopped that.

Overall, meh. Meh plot, meh romance, meh characters. Just meh.
