The Perfect Nanny
by Leïla Slimani
This book was a dark, compulsive read that once started, couldn’t be put down. I found the points of view to be irritating, as it was in third person but repeatedly changed perspective, giving too much insight into irrelevant characters thoughts and feelings. I also found the language to be less than authentic. With that being said, it was a captivating and dark story. You know from page one that something terrible will happen, and readers are on the edge of their seats waiting for that other shoe to drop.
