Great first entry for a LitRPG series but unfortunately the first book too closely follows the standard formula in this genre. If this is your first exposure to Gamelit/LitRPGs you should have a good time. The writing is solid (much better than most first books in this genre) and the characters are enjoyable. The author doesn't rely on over-the-top personalities or reliance on pop culture reference to pull the reader into the story.
The story is only 2/5 stars since there is very little new about this book
The writing is a solid 4/5. It's not on par with a Tolkien or King novel. This might be the best written first entry for a LitRPG series. I'm very excited to see where the author goes with the story (and hopefully they deviate from other writers).
