The Kitchen House
by Kathleen Grissom
The way I decide whether to give a book three or four stars is by how much I still think about it when I'm finished. This book has a lot to think about. It is historical in nature (takes place in the late 1700's). It incorporates indentured servitude, slavery, race relations, family relationships, and more. It's a first novel by Kathleen Grissom, which she says in her notes practically wrote itself. It's a big, epic story.
