This book had me convinced I was braving the Alaskan wilderness myself—minus the frostbite, thankfully. The writing is so immersive and in-depth that I often found myself lost in the landscape, completely transported. But beyond the vivid setting, what really stood out was the unique perspective of a child caught in the turbulence of her parents' marriage.

Given the genre, I didn’t expect to get emotional, yet there I was, blindsided by the sheer beauty of the ending—cue the tears. After such an intense and breathtaking journey, the final pages left me absolutely wrecked (in the best way possible). I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a story that stays with you long after the last page.
