And so it begins... I enjoyed this volume, though not quite as much as I liked the comics from individual heroes that preceded them (Superman, Aquaman). The scale is so grand that I think nuance is lost in the shuffle. On the plus side though, it's clear that DC intended this to be an epic struggle and it certainly was. Though I was surprised at
Spoilerhow easily the Justice League got beaten down.
. The artwork bears the grand scale out - with large panels, including some memorable full page (left and right) spreads that show how all encompassing the war is. Interesting way to end the volume though, so I will be looking forward to continuing with the series.
