The Dark Light of Day by T.M. Frazier
Did not finish book. Stopped at 21%.
Highschool stuff. The characters are all children. Huge emphasis on childhood trauma that seems profound to children, but not something I care to read about. It feels like the author is trying to play trauma bingo and catch them all. Strong "not like other kids, I have ~issues~" vibes. Deep internalized misogyny. The author seems to be a misogynist, forgiving both the girls and men for being terrible to girls and women. It also uses "bad habits" such as smoking marijuana as a personality, as if most teenagers don't already do that.
Graphic: Misogyny
Moderate: Child abuse, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Drug use, Death, and Drug abuse
