The second instalment in the grail cycle doesn’t fail to deliver. This series goes from strength to strength. Don’t read this review if you have not read The Call of the Sea.
Jenyfer has jumped ship to remove her sway over Ordes and begin to understand her powers. Arthur has gone in seek of his destiny to become King. Ordes is left floating on the sea unsure of what to do next. I liked that this book gave the 3 main characters some time apart to develop without the influence of the others. When they do converge they are already stronger in their own right and they start to make some head way in their quest.

I adore Kate’s writing. She has built an intriguing world but she develops her characters in that world so well, even her minor characters. I love where this is going and can’t wait to read the next one.
