Bearing an Hourglass by Piers Anthony

2.0

I've not read Piers Anthony before and, since he's a fairly big name that I've heard many times, I thought I should have. Maybe I got the wrong book to start with, but, man, this was a slog. The book meandered all over the place with way too much philosophical blather and way too little plot and character development. As a female reader, I got really tired of how we couldn't have a female character without getting a full analysis of her physical attractiveness. I didn't know the full physical details of the male characters after all. Although the writing is quite smooth and sometimes even beautiful, I don't think I'll be back for more by this author.
