The Real History of Tom Jones by J. Stevenson
4.0
Great quality literary criticism has never read so well!
I'm a lowly undergraduate but I loved the detailed analysis this book offers, I learned so much about the novel that I'd never considered before. It's refreshing to read criticism of 18th Century literature that wasn't written before I was born, in archaic language making convoluted links between its primary text and other really obscure works. This is simply great close analysis of the text. Very helpful, very interesting.
