I Survived the Nazi Invasion, 1944: The Graphic Novel by Georgia Ball, Lauren Tarshis

This was a very educational read geared towards middle school aged kids. I enjoyed learning about new things, however grim and sobering WWII and the holocaust is, but I do wish it had been less about finding the American dream at the end of it. Obviously that was a reality for many Jewish refugees, but I would have rather spent all of the book in Poland. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it felt like an American book about the holocaust, which is fine, but not what I expected. Still, I think it was well done and a very important book for children to read in school or with their parents. I especially appreciated the timeline of historical events at the end of the book. This would have been a great learning tool for me growing up, and I hope people make use of it now!
