This will gone as a book I should have DNFed. And, this review may contain spoiler, if you want to know why... You have been warned.
I was recommended this series by a friend of mine, and like an idiot with girl math, I bought all four books in the series, because that only counts as one, right?!?!? I pulled this book from my TBR Jar, and I was actually excited to read it! The series has been on my shelf for almost a year now, so it was time. Unfortunately, the only thing halfway decent was the spice. But, the story... absolutely not.
I love fake dating, so I was pumped that was the trope for this one. I also love a good sports romance, because I love sports. If you like sports and understand them, this is not the book for you. There are so many issues with the plot, including that there is no way someone can transfer their senior year and graduate at the end of it, scouts will not automatically forget the idiot move you made the year before because you are playing well at your new school, you don't win a Heisman for one year as an athlete, and you absolutely do not throw a National Championship title because of a girl! It is also incredibly cliche that Bex is a diner girl with no prospects... I've seen a Cinderella Story from 2004 too.
I truly could go on and on, but I just want to be finished with this book and any thought of it. Unfortunately, I own three more in the series, so I guess I'll have to read those too... eventually. 1.5/5 stara
