On Love
by Alain de Botton
Probably my favorite from this author so far, tied with the parenting one. Took me a gazillion years to read this because I hit the "everything goes downhill" section and it was so painful I only just mustered up the courage to finish it.
I am impressed by how he is take such a philosophical and... objective? or at least distantly observing his own subjectivity? perspective on something he is so entangled with. Describes the process of falling in love, staying in it, and falling out of it - devastating but also hopeful.
Also presents the strongest argument against stoicism I've seen.
