For me, the series' fourth novel felt a little flat and dragged out. I occasionally became sidetracked and didn't felt as captivated to read.

When compared to books two and three in this series, the outcome is completely the reverse.

I'm not sure what changed for Carter because Aria had already been in danger and trying to flee. He appeared to have changed over night.

He deserves to be redeemed, in my opinion, but he needed to put more effort into earning forgiveness. The disregard with which he handled Aria and his refusal to ever consider her point of view, were nerve-wracking.

The way this novel ended made me a little sad, especially since I had been excited to read it after enjoying the other books in the series.

But I still really want to read the stories of Carter's brothers.
