Four Funerals and Maybe a Wedding
by Rhys Bowen
The time has finally come for Georgie and Darcy to marry, but like many of those in the middle of wedding planning she is wishing they had eloped. The King and Queen have invited themselves to her wedding, the princesses are to be her bridesmaids, and the Queen wants her to invite half the royal heads of Europe.
Other frustrations continue, not least among them the absence of a suitable place for the newly married couple to live. Then an old stepfather writes to offer his country house which Georgie was meant to some day inherit. He’d be happy for her to use it, but he warns her that he believes something is strange at the house. Thrilled to return to a home she loved as a child Georgie arrives to a house of surly servants and a house that has lacked care for too long. And something is definitely wrong.
This was a delightful read. Though the mystery was less complicated than some in the series, it was very much an adventure. All of the favorite characters appear and the ending was brilliant.
