Breach of Peace by Daniel B. Greene

3.0

I picked this book up to support the author, Mr. Greene, as I am a fan of his work on YouTube, and I'm happy to say that I enjoyed the read - finished it in (practically) one sitting.

A good debut novella and introduction to the Lawful Times world, and one that Danial can be proud of.

Although I didn't really buy into some of the decisions made, or conclusions drawn, by the characters (with whom I didn't develop much of a connection - probably more difficult in a novella!?), the story and the world itself was interesting and exciting enough to keep me engaged and entertained throughout.

The parts of the writing I thought were a little bit shaky (only in my amateur opinion) were noticeable mainly because of how strong other parts were.

Three stars may not seem like a glowing review, but I've no doubt Daniel will get better and better, and it was a quick and fun read!

For reference, I gave Patrick Rothfuss's novella, The Slow Regard of Silent Things, 2 stars, despite his famously good prose... its a story I want most - and Breach of Peace was a good story.
