We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

I don't think I can write this review without spoilers, so spoiler warning.

This was an odd reading experience for me, because my wife watched the show, and really wanted me to participate in the story so I decided to try to listen to the book. She then proceeded to have me quit the book when she didn't like how it was portraying certain parts of the story (I was probably about 75% through).

I have mixed feelings on this book. Because this is very outside my realm of what I normally read I have a hard time comparing it to other similar works so largely have to go off the feelings I got. I will say just based on the small amount of time I spent with both media forms I do think that it was better portrayed in a series/tv format than a book format, specifically with the clues about her friends being ghosts in her mind. I don't feel like the book left me very many clues about that aspect of the story. Overall, I did enjoy the series part over the book part I watched therefore I am rating the book mildly disappointing.
