North: Finding My Way While Running the Appalachian Trail
by Scott Jurek
Endurance, resilience, and the indomitable power of the human spirit. This is an absolute gem of a memoir that left me inspired and, at times, awestruck. Through vivid storytelling, Jurek and his wife Jenny take us on an incredible journey along the Appalachian trail, sharing highs and lows of his record-breaking run. In just a few hours, I found myself immersed in their epic 46-day endeavor, every minute of which was time well spent.
Their storytelling is raw, honest, and vulnerable, yet sprinkled with humor, showcasing their unwavering determination to conquer challenges. I fell in love with the they have for each other, even when it means leaving a quarter mile between themselves while they cool down from an argument.
Seasoned ultrarunner or not, this is a story worth reading. I will be recommending this novel to all of my friends seeking adventure, personal growth, and a captivating story.
