A story of the love of a mother and the impact it has on her son’s love life.
Definitely so Oedipus complex stuff going on here. The first half was set up really well looking to an interesting second half however it fell short of what it had set up to be.
The set up of Paul and Miriam was beautiful, a sort of childhood friends to lover, yet Paul went to ruined it all with his desire for sex. Also his own mother’s resentment of Miriam played a huge part in Paul’s decisions in Women.
Lawrence writes beautifully, easy to understand and follow yet the characters flaws were a bit too much of a flaw for my liking.
