I liked it, but I didn’t get into it like some other fantasy books. This book took me just shy of 2 weeks. It is an interesting story and I really liked both the the FMC and MMC but...
I either missed the details about Max and/or the author didn’t do a sufficient job describing him because I imagined an old man when he was first met and started training Tisaanah, so when chemistry started developing I was majorly thrown off. I also really liked how the story was going in my mind with an older, safe, grandfather figure nurturing something lost in Tisaanah’s life that the romance took away the fantasy I had created in my mind. Additionally, I’m really freaked out by the idea of possession and that was a big part of the plot. Once I reframed how I was thinking of Max, I still really liked him, but I am definitely dealing with some disappointment in coping with various aspects that were lost in the story.
I’m likely going to read the next book but plan to read something else between now and then.
