Exactly what I'd expect from a Jacqueline Wilson book.
Easy, almost predictable listening (I did the audiobook) hitting all the hard topics but with a fun and carefree ease that left me shouting at the speakers but managing to leave the concepts behind when I turned it off.
This book tapped into all the feels that life brings me at this age. I don't know how she's done it but Jacqueline Wilson is a magician. She wooed me in my childhood and I feel thoroughly wooed once again.
My only gripe is that I felt Ellie should have been 35. I'm not ready to accept my age, and I always thought of Ellie at my age. So starting the book with her on her 40th birthday was a bit of a shock to the system.
