Picked this one up solely because the author’s name is Halle and the cover is cute. There were some extremely poignant passages about growing up, work/ life balance, societal pressures, and being a single woman. The writing style felt more like a text chain than a novel and so the story was not super cohesive and is why I gave it only three stars. It was going to get 2.5, until a devastating chapter about visiting your parents as an adult made me cry - so I gifted her a .5 star just for that. Overall, would not recommend to a happy and sane person, but good for someone who doesn’t want to feel alone in a rut. THINGS WILL GET BETTER!
