Non spoiler- I really loved this book. In my opinion, it read kind of like a screen play- every place, person, action was described in vivid detail. I thoroughly enjoyed the world building that happened within all of this description. But I think it's a writing style some may not enjoy. The speed felt slow but there was surprising and sometimes brutal and scary action to break up the slower moments. I felt drawn to the characters, their personalities and motivations felt very real and not recycled like many fantasy romances. And to be honest I enjoyed that the romance took mostly a back seat to the more pressing plot.
Spoilers!!!
I wish there had been more of a slow burn for the enemies to lovers romance, the attraction was noted pretty early and the tension completely dissipated around 60% through. If it had been drawn out to the end or even into the second book this would've been a perfect read for me!
