ARC REVIEW. 3.75/5 Stars.

If you put a potential human between magic beings, and hope the maybe-human doesn't notice magic exists, nothing could go wrong, right? WRONG! I mena obviously, but what ever you thought of might happen, definitely happens in this book. it is hilarious. All of this starts with "Why the heck is that maybe-human still a maybe?" (All of Belgium is cursed) and ends with - just kidding, not gonna spoil THAT for you.
You have two main story lines, that are deeply intertwined. The first one is the plot driven "Corbian has to figure out if there's magic in this person" this is where you get all the clashes, because the tenants are very much not used to not using their magic in the house for this long, so they'll contstantly need keeping in check, to avoid slipping up. The second story line that runs within this is a more character driven plot of "Corbian trying to figure out who HE is". Theses two storylines together make an amazing book.
The main thing I would like to note about this, is that the writing style wasn't quite my favourite, and I felt that the POV of the narrator was - at times - switching too rapidly between the characters. That made it a bit confusing to follow the actual story at times, because you needed a few sentences, to figure out that the narrator has switched.
I'd also like to add, that there are a lot of fairytale lore drops, most of them woven in very well into the rest of the story, but then sometimes they just appear out of thin air, and slightly disrupt your reading flow.
Besides all of this, I truly enjoyed the book and I would definitely recommend this. Especially if you are interested in fairytales, magical tales, and magical creatures and their backgrounds. Or if you want to just read a commedic version of a trainwreck, that's about to happen, where distaster is only avoided barely everytime.
