Play Dead by Anne Frasier

4.0

I wasn't really sure how I was going to feel about this book. Anne Frasier really blew me away with the Detective Fontaine series, but this one with it's conjurer and mojos and spells... I was skeptical. Not going to lie.

However, I really like Elise as a character and I find her relatable. I love David too, even though I didn't think I would. Now I'm over here hoping these two take off on a romance throughout the series because I want them together as a couple so badly.

As Frasier has done in the past, I did not predict this ending. Without giving anything away, I was very surprised by what the killer was going to do to her final victim had Elise not shown up. It was creepy and morbid, but still a good story line.

As for the spell casting and conjuring, it did not overpower the book and I don't think it had a negative effect. I didn't understand much of the parts when I was reading them, but it didn't effect the case and the storyline.

Anne Frasier, I know you've already written this series but PLEASE put Elise and David together. I need it to happen.
