The Fishermen by C.P. Harris
2.0
I honestly don’t even know where I land on this goddamn book forreal. It had me in the first 30% and then it lost me. There were so many things wrong with it.
First and foremost why the fuck was this book 2 in the series and not number one? Every single thing that happened at the start of their relationship completely shit on what we knew from book one about Jasper and Cole’s parents which hello FRANKLIN is his father. And I do mean everything and the end of book one Franky shows up and single handedly fixes the issues that were present in Jasper and Cole’s relationship all for that to then again he put in jeopardy in book two by making us lowkey hate him for what he then does to Leland in the present but to Cole, Jasper and Selene in the past. I did not like that.
Secondly there was no telling of what timeline this was on. In hindsight yes I know it had to have happened before Lelan and Cole became friends but the entire time I was reading it made me second guess my like for Leland and his friendship with Cole. I absolutely did not like knowing how the story was going to pan out from the beginning and was confused at the same time because we did not get any timeline explaining at the beginning of each chapter or parts in the book.
Third why the hell was their sex so violent and why the need for all this use of cum. ISTG I wanted to throw up it was so excessive and unnecessary and it added nothing to the story? So many things were throwaways and had me asking out loud like “why is this here” it’s like sprinkling parsley ontop of food for razzle dazzle. It added NOTHING to the story.
All that to say I couldn’t stop reading it though so idk if that classifies this as a hate read or if I read for the vibes cause i definitely saw it all the way through and I was satisfied with the ending, cheesy as it may be.
