Silent Night, Deadly Night by Kaylea Cross

4.0

I actually have not read the 5 prior books and it was mentioned that we should, but I honestly was able to follow along pretty well. It would have been nice to have the background stories of the characters, but it did not really take away from the storyline.

Family and friends are gathering at Luke and Emily’s home for the holidays. A mysterious envelope is mailed to their friend’s, Sam and Ben’s home, Sam is unable to encrypt it on the fly, so they decide to bring it along. This triggers the danger and suspense that this author is so well known for. Even though I do not know all of the parties involved you can feel the closeness and camaraderie between them all. They are a tight knit team and this definitely comes into play when danger tries to take a few of their own.

Silent Night, Deadly Night not only had the nail-biting suspense, but we have this monumental sense of family. There was also a health scare that could have derailed all of this, but they gather around and support each other during the good times and bad times. This was a wonderful novella to read during this holiday season.
