O Ofício de Viver by Cesare Pavese

3.0

While reading this book that tears you apart and destabilizes you as if the hands of a clock had changed direction, we ask ourselves a single question: why do most geniuses suffer from the pain of living? Through the clues, the author's elements give us an idea about his discomfort in life. Despite that, we become embedded in his perception of things beyond our understanding. Sometimes, we find ourselves there. Even if we identify with it, we keep asking ourselves the same question. He makes us understand simultaneously that all sufferings are not equal and all have curing; there are also specific successes that do not guarantee happiness.
A book that is not read only with the gaze of a reader who wants to enjoy the author's words, but it is a book that asks the reader to become "a maker of life.''.
