MASH: A Novel about Three Army Doctors by Richard Hooker

5.0

So, as this was published in 1960 and is about the Korean War, there is sexism, sexual harassment, and racism. I acknowledge those things are unacceptable. There are other books that I have put aside for these reasons, even though they are of their time period.

I have a soft spot for MASH the TV show as my family watched it regularly as I grew up. This book, like the show, demonstrates the reality of war, and the tight relationships that can be made under intense and difficult circumstances. I thought it was well written and really drew the reader in to the atmosphere.
