Looking for Alibrandi
by Melina Marchetta
Can I give a book a zillion stars? I would if I could. This was one of my favorite books of all time growing up, and I'd definitely still rank it as really high on the list. I was only 9 when I read it but I completely understood and related to Josie, her tough relationship with her father and mother, her motley crew of friends, her struggles with class, popularity, and intelligence at school, everything. Every reading of this book makes me laugh, cry, and wonder at Marchetta's honest and sometimes poetic writing. I never get tired of it.
