This was more like 2.5 stars. Maybe it has been too long since I read the previous books because I really had no clue who the bad guys were and what they did previously. But even if I had remembered, this book really didn't have much action, suspense, or resolution. And the flashbacks for Valek had super clunky transitions, though that storyline was probably my favorite part of the book. So yeah, can't particularly recommend it despite my love for Yelena and especially Valek.
