Be prepared to spend many, many hours with Dickens -- the print version of this book runs over 700 pages -- but if you're like me, when you set the book down, you'll be sorry to leave. I loved the intermingled plots, the high stakes and the wide variety of characters. Some of them rise to their best, others sink to their, and still others look on with growing understanding or stubborn cluenessness. But the end result is a sprawling, satisfying tale in which most things work out the way they should. Recommended for anyone with patience to work with a bit of old English -- you'll be rewarded with plenty of warmth, wit and suspense. A treasure!
