There Is a Rio Grande in Heaven by Ruben Reyes Jr.
3.5
some of these stories really hit and some are a bit of a slog (the reggaeton artist one was really not for me). faves were 'He Eats His Own' and 'Variations On Your Migrant Life'. several of the 'An Alternate History Of El Salvador or Perhaps the World' were interesting, and the last one (dedicated to two migrants who drowned while attempting to cross the border, one of whom was under 2 years old) was incredibly touching and heartbreaking. a good read and an author I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for in the future!
