Just Ten Seconds by Jeannine Colette
5.0
The relationship between Dean and Mara is both easy and uneasy. When they fall into a friendship, it’s like they’ve been that way their whole lives.
Both dealing with their version of residual guilt, it makes for their uneasy moments.
Mars is afraid. Afraid to live, afraid to love, and afraid to move forward from where she’s been
Dean is a single dad without that luxury. Time can’t stop for him while he’s being super dad to Amanda.
And Amanda brings something so sweet and pure and refreshing to the entire dynamic. She’s a firecracker in the best sense of the word, knowing what she wants in her 8 year old way and striving to attain it.
This story gripped me from the very beginning, and probably will not let go for a long time.
Recommendation: Grab your hanky, and settle in for an emotional ride that will leave your heart satisfied.
