Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon

5.0

At first the writing style reminded me so much of Lynn Painter’s and I was hoping I would like this since I wasn’t a big fan of The Do-Over but I didn’t really need to hope when I would’ve loved this book either way.

The characters were done so well I can’t even begin to explain- I love both Rowan and Neil sm and the whole rivals to lovers thing they had going on was so cute and although I dreaded the slow burn it was soo worth it in the end. We get to know both characters rlly well and personally I connected with them more than I have with any other characters in books. Them both being Jewish and connecting one on one with that aspect was super special and sweet to see, I could relate to that a little since I am Jewish (I don’t practise it though) and idk that rlly stood out to me. Rowan and Neil weren’t the typical effortless attractive protagonists as well as basically everyone else in this book which I loved to see since I feel like nowadays everyone is described as ‘hot’ or at least attractive in literally every single YA.

The story you would think would be weirdly paced out since it takes place in one whole day and half the day is already gone by a quarter of the book, but surprisingly it was paced well and didn’t feel rushed at all in any parts of the plot. And the plot itself was interesting and executed nicely, everything made sense (pointing that out since there could’ve been a lot of mistakes made during the whole Howl game) and like idk Neil and Rowan teaming up was so fun to read about, just them going all over Seattle trying to complete the clues while getting to know each other and regretting not becoming friends earlier in their rival-ship was so heartwarming AND THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT *chef’s kiss*
