Running on Empty: Overcome Your Childhood Emotional Neglect by Jonice Webb

informative reflective fast-paced

2.5

Hard to recommend as a whole due to it containing quite outdated ideas about gender, parenting, marriage, and suicide. But the core thesis of the book (that Childhood Emotional Neglect is a thing that exists with predictable causes and outcomes) rings very true to me. If you take a more zoomed out view of the content, it's really helpful and accurate. But some of the details are a little more troubling. I'd recommend proceeding with caution and reading if you're open to sorting through the content and only taking with you that which you find helpful.
