The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen
4.0

Almost a 5-star book. I am the first person to admit I don't like mysteries, but I picked this for the book club I lead because most of them like mysteries. I was pleasantly surprised. It was different than what I expected and I liked that even though the story was split between past and present, it read much more like a historical book because the majority WAS historical. I also never felt that the pacing between the times was off; the breaks between past and present weren't uneven in any way. I will give it 4 stars because I felt it was just a tad too long and a little cliché. I also felt that the main characters dreams and the mild "reincarnation" theme was a little too "out there" for me. I would definitely try another Tess Gerritsen book, though!
