Half Bad by Sally Green

4.0

The way this Book was written was very different to anything that I have read before and so it took a bit longer for me to get in to it. It changes narrative at the beginning, the descriptions and language is quite basic and there are little things like no capital letters at the beginning of chapter names that I found jarring. I like the way that it is split into parts and the length of the chapters depends on what is going on. I love Books about Witches and Magic and the concept of good and evil and so I enjoyed this Book. The plot did drag at bit at times, but once you get to know Nathan's story and other characters are introduced, then it picks up a lot. I liked Nathan and Gabriel and their relationship, but I did not feel as much of a connection with most of the other characters. I liked how harsh it could get, especially for Nathan-Anything bad that happened and its effects on the characters, whether physical or emotional was addressed. I've almost finished reading the next Book; Half Wild (which has Half Lies at the end as well) and it is even better. :)
