Magic for Liars by Sarah Gailey

3.75

This was pretty good! The POV character is a non-magical PI investigating a murder at a school for magic, so you don't really get much of an explanation of how the magic system works because she doesn't understand it. That was fine with me. She also had a lot of the self-loathing and overuse of alcohol that you see in the PI trope, but I think it was (mostly) tied into her background and character development. But it was a little hard to listen to sometimes.
