The writing is very vivid, captivating, and it’s a quick read. The story follows Korede’s life, memories, and perspective of her sister’s murders. While the situations Korede gets into are enticing and suspenseful, I think the book doesn’t deeply develop her character. It seems like the book serves to explain Korede’s actions through well written flashbacks, but there is not much growth in her reasoning in her present time despite the troubles she goes through.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read but I would’ve liked more character evolution/development for such a character centered book.

Graphic: Violence, Murder
Moderate: Toxic relationship
