The Clockmaker's Daughter
by Kate Morton
Unique Perspective
Having read quite a few of Kate Morton’s other works, I liked that this one included a unique all-knowing (or at least mostly knowing) perspective. Unfortunately, all the detailed storylines of so many characters across so many time periods was too much, as the reader does not develop a strong relationship with most of them. This made the ending feel like there were too many things left unresolved and that the time invested in learning about each character had minimal payoff. It was an entertaining read that fell short of my expectations for this author.
