dark fast-paced

5.0

The keen mind trapped without outlet for the intelligence.

Depressing look into 1970s New York City with themes that are painstakingly relevant 50 years later.

A real taste of the hopelessness of the impoverished working class, despite race (Ginny), but still cannot see over her owb privilege to actually do real good.

And the weight of being a black man (Calvin) who has been passed through life without anyone ever actually giving him a real chance combined while being oppressed by a system he cannot break free of no matter how hard he dreams and fights for it combined.

Dark, human, visceral, and stunning. I would love to see a production of this underrated masterpiece.
