American Gods by Neil Gaiman

5.0

I read this book after a very long (and mostly unintentional) leave of absence from the world of fiction; I wanted something that I could be fairly certain I'd like, and picked American Gods after a couple of weeks hearing rumblings of Good Omens getting a second season and of Neil Gaiman's other works being particularly good. I will be the first to admit - I adore road trip stories, and this has to be one of the best. The cast is full of memorable, funny travel companions and I found myself completely swept up in the thick of the story within pages. It's a wonderful collection of moments, some big and some small, that swept me along for the ride. And what a ride it was!
